YOU CAN JOIN our important work of bringing the gift of reading to thousands of students, by volunteering and/or donating online.
The Birthday Books Project lets you make a big impact with every donation. Thanks to our 100% volunteer staff, every dollar you donate is directly spent on books for the children we serve! And, thanks to our wonderful nonprofit partners, we pay just a fraction of the cover price, making your gift go further. In fact, a $100 donation can often provide gift books to up to 50 happy children -- many of whom have never personally owned a book before!
Volunteer
Volunteering as a Coordinator for the Birthday Books Project at one of our partner schools is a great way to be involved! You'll need to spend an average of 3 hours per month for one year, and most of that can be done online. We are in immediate need of Coordinators in Maryland, but we can also help match you with schools nationwide.
We also have a constant need for Fundraising help, both online and through community events. This is a great choice for those with writing, computer and/or networking skills -- or just a little time and plenty of enthusiasm!
